How my journey began
Amanda Wilkinson left her corporate job over a decade ago to pursue her passion of working with dogs full time in the animal care industry. A few years in, she discovered that dog training was a career move that was meant to be.
She has been working with and training dogs for over 15 years as a longtime volunteer with a local animal rescue, Our Pal’s Place. Here, she’s served on the Caregiving Team, Adoption Team, and Intake Team. As the K9 Coach Team Lead, Amanda teaches other volunteers how to train the dogs awaiting their forever homes. She has also worked at Our Pal’s Place Daycare, Boarding and Training facility as their full-time, in-house trainer.
Amanda has lived with dogs her entire life and with her background in the rescue community, she understands that every dog is an individual. This perspective allows her to approach all of her clients with the same philosophy. She employs force-free, positive reinforcement training methods.
Amanda will graduate the Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy in the Summer of 2024.
